    Johan Halland, PsyD

    Registered Psychologist

    Johan is a registered psychologist and has been in practice since 2007. He conducts a variety of psychological assessments to help individuals develop insights into their unique strengths and challenges. He thrives when someone asks him “why” (e.g., why can’t I concentrate, why do I get upset so easy, why do I feel this way, why do I think about these things, why do I date the same people, etc.) and then creates a plan to answer these questions.

    Johan also offers talk-therapy and is dedicated to working collaboratively with individuals and families to achieve desired change. He has extensive training to support individuals and their family impacted by a diagnosed mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, and bipolar disorder.

    Johan completed his Doctor of Psychology and his research was focused on trauma within the family system and how to utilize specific treatments to address symptoms related to stress as well as promote post-traumatic growth. His undergraduate and graduate degrees were through the University of Calgary and he has advanced training in play therapy, Sandplay, CBT, ACT, psychodynamic therapy, and group therapy.

    Johan primarily works evenings and weekends and direct bills to many insurance companies including Alberta Blue Cross, Beneva, Canada Life, Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance, ClaimSecure, GreenShield, etc.

    Johan also offers clinical supervision to provisional psychologists and believes strongly in the power of ongoing professional and personal development.

    Trevor Pikkert, MACP, B.Ed, BPE

    Canadian Certified Counsellor - Q; Canadian Certified Therapist

    Trevor is our education guru, counsellor, and mental coach for athletes. He has over 25 years of experience within the education system and has completed both a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Counselling Psychology degree.

    Trevor has a passion for working with athletes to improve their mental game and has personally won 8 Provincial and National Championships at the post-secondary level, as well as a Canada West Championship. Long-story short, Trevor knows how to win.

    Darcie Flanders, MSW, RSW

    Registered Social Worker; Certified Play Therapist

    Darcie is our child and adolescent counsellor and has been working in the field since 2001. She has a master’s degree in social work and advanced training in various approaches including family systems theory and play therapy. She has extensive experience as a clinician within public mental health and the education system and recognizes the challenges and opportunities that come with raising a child with mental health challenges.

    Darcie’s work is a based on a combination of compassion for each individual and family’s story, passion for uncovering strengths, and general skill in helping people lead a more satisfying life. She practices from a strength-based perspective which places emphasis on “building one up” and gaining a sense of mastery over their experiences.

    Darcie’s ideal client comes to the relationship with a desire for “growth” and to work through such challenges as parent-child relational conflict, loss of a loved one, divorce, attachment ruptures, anxiety, depression, inattention, and family transitions.

Currently we are seeking a psychologist or provisional psychologist with training or interest in formal assessment.
